A unidentified Alco switcher passes the Morgan City depot heading east towards the yard.  The grade crossing in the foreground is Sixth Street.  Compare this image to the previous one and notice how the loading ramp on this end of the depot has been removed.

S2 number 44 (Alco 1947) heads east into the Morgan City yard, which consisted of one track on each side of the main line!  The train has just passed the depot, around the curve in the background.  Cantilever signal 797 was a local railroad landmark.

RSD5 157 (Alco 1953) and S2 40 (Alco 1947) were tied up next to the Morgan City yard.  Signal 797 can be seen in the right background.  Local trains operated into Morgan City from both Avondale (milepost 11) and Lafayette (milepost 147), and their crews laid over here.
